History

The firm, Yuan, Chen & Partners Attorneys-at-Law, was founded by Mr. JT Yuan in 2000 and located on the 11th floor of the TWTC International Trade Building in Xinyi District, Taipei City. Since we worked closely with the tax department of Diwan & Company (now Ernst & Young), “Diwan” was also the name of the firm. With our three lawyers’ expertise, we initially provided services for the listed companies and dealt with business, tax and legal cases. The name of the firm was then changed to “Ernst & Young.”

Lawyer Eva Peng joined our team as a partner and dealt with the affairs of the frim jointly.

Lawyer Allen Chen, who had served as a judge at Taiwan Kaohsiung District Court for ten years, joined us as a partner. As the business of the firm grew, we moved the office to the 4th floor of the same building.

We officially named our firm “Yuan, Chen & Partners Attorneys-at-Law” in response to the domestic and international trend of independent CPA auditing business and the request of the clients as well as for the sustainable development of the firm.

Lawyer Richard Lee, who had served as a chief judge of Taiwan Taitung District Court and a presiding judge of Taiwan Kaohsiung District Court, joined us as the fourth partner. Under the leadership and guidance of the two partners who have extensive experience of litigation practices in conjunction with our specialties in the business and tax laws, the firm has emerged as a leading law firm in the fields of civil, criminal and administrative actions involving business and tax matters, and has been highly recognized by the clients. We will continuously make contributions to the rights of our clients and the promotion of the Rule of Law based on our solid foundations and extensive experiences that we have accumulated over the past years.
